I am not a big fan of macro photography. However, I had the lens that can take macro shots. So why not give it a try?

Showcase Flower Photography
This is my first HDR image ever! I have been amazed by so many high dynamic range photos out there, but I was not sure how people do that until recently.
I download the Photomatix Pro and load 3 images taken in my front yard today into the software. I really have no idea what I am supposed to do with the software. I use some of the preset and change the contract, saturation, white point and black point etc. This is what I got.
I then load the image into Photoshop and sharpen the edge. To be honest, I wasn’t impressed by the result at all. I basically don’t know what I am supposed to do with the software. I am sure the more I use the software, the more I will get to know it.
I guess the HDR won’t work well at closeup shot with blur background. I will try to take landscape next time.

I love taking flower photos! This was taken at the lobby of Gran Bahia Principe Resort in Runaway Bay, Jamaica! This is the same place I took the Jamaica Night. The resort is built beautifully. When I take flower photos, I always stand far back and zoom in the focus on the flower. So the background is blur and the flower will stand out. In most cases, it turns very good.

Don’t you just love shopping season at the end of every year? This photo was taken in Las Vegas shopping mall. I love the combination of red and white flowers. However, I do think the photo is too bright. This is not my best shot about flowers and shopping mall, but I really like the color combination. I am really curious how they put all those roses together and make it a huge ball.

I Took this photo at my neighbor’s front yard. This is the first digital photo I took using my Canon 7D, which is the new camera to replace my old Nikon D70S. So far, I am very happy with the switch. Canon really stand out with the vivid color. The macro lens also did a great job on showing the detail of the bee.
After loading the photo to the computer, I realized that I caught the second bee at background. That make this image more interesting and becomes one of my favorite photos!
