Showcase HDR Photography

Really. I am not a big fan of taking sunset or sunrise photos. First of all, there is chance that the sun light will hurt the digital camera sensor badly. It’s also hard to capture the right moment and color. This one isn’t as bad as I thought. Of course, it has to be HDR in order to show more details and colors.

Since it was taken on a moving ship, it was not easy to hold camera steady. Glad that Photomatix Pro solve the problem easil

Sunset

Here are two more from the different angle and in Black and White.

I like the black and white. It looks like a scene in the horror movie.

This is the last photo of Mahogany Bay Roatan, where we left the colorful ghost town behind. The Rain is coming our way and we just left at the right time. You can see there is another cruise ship (Carnival Glory) in front of us at the end of the horizon line. This place is beautiful and newly opened for Carnival cruise line. The nearby airport is about 4-6 hours drive, so the easy way to get here is by cruise. We took our zip-line excursion here and we had good time screaming in the jungle. 🙂

At The End Of The Line

The dark cloud moved in while we were leaving the Mahogany Bay Roatan. I took many shots of this scene and finally came up with two different images. I kind of like the second one more, but I think I can make it even more dynamic when I know more about HDR image and Photomatix Pro.

We were leaving the Ghost Town At Mahogany Bay Roatan and this little oasis isn’t too far away. I like the color combination and it does show much more dynamic color and the rain in the far distance after processing it into HDR image.

Oasis In The Ocean

OK. I am taking a break to post something different. My Facebook friends complaint to me about my beach vacation photos on our Caribbean Cruise Trip. He said that I am making people jealous about my trip. 🙂 Well. Don’t be! There are just too many places to visit in my life. I haven’t had enough time to visit all the amazing places on earth.

After all, it’s about seeking our happiness in our life, isn’t it? This bridge was taken at the Tampa Port, where we were leaving the city on our way to Cozumel, Mexico. It was about 6:15PM, when we were supposed to have our first formal dining in the restaurant. So we told the waiter and other people sitting at the same table that we will be back in few minutes. We rushed to get on the deck and we made it. If you miss this part, you miss a big part of the fun trip!

Tampa Bridge

I don’t know the name of the bridge and I don’t really care either. What makes this bridge so unique is this. It’s just few feet above the highest point of the cruise ship. It’s a very beautiful bridge. Everyone got so exciting when the ship passing under the bridge.

Well. I call it the bridge to happiness. My wife and I really had great time! If you plan to go on a cruise trip to Caribbean, you don’t want to miss this one. The other cruise ship from Miami will not give this exciting moment.

This is our third stop on our Caribbean cruise trip after Cozumel Mexico and Belize. This is a very small town built just for the cruise ship and tourism. After all passengers are on board, the town looks like a ghost town. A very colorful ghost town.

We did our zip-line excursion and enjoy a very crowded beach. There was about 2000 tourists in the town from two Carnival cruise ships – Legend and Glory.

I have much more respect to the ancient history and culture after seeing this wonderful temple ruin at Belize. The tour guide told us a much different story than the one I saw on discover channel. It was a good hike to the top of the temple and we feel the power of being on top of the entire village. You really feel like a KING of the world.

Really and honestly, this is my last Cozumel Travel Photos. I have had lots fun enjoying the beach for two of us and taking photos that is so memorable. We are heading back to the cruise ship and saw these yellow pedicabs. This is the perfect scene to capture people come and go.

Tuning this image into HDR is not a very pleasant thing to do. There are too much details and lines on the ship, so the software won’t line up correctly.
